Is Where You Left It a home inventory app?
Yes. It’s a web app that helps you remember where you put your belongings. You organize items using containers and locations, add photos, and search by name—so you can track everything from keys to tools to what’s in storage.
What’s the Free plan limit?
Free includes up to 100 items and 100 images. You get unlimited locations, drag-and-drop organization, and search. No credit card required.
Do I need a credit card?
No. You can sign up and use the Free plan without a credit card.
Can I export my data?
CSV export is available on Individual and Family plans (coming soon). Exports include your items and locations data; images are not included in exports.
Can I share with family?
Family sharing is coming soon. The Family plan will let you share locations and items with up to 5 family members.
Where are photos stored?
Photos are stored securely and are only visible to you. We use cloud storage to serve them when you’re signed in.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your data is private and only visible to you. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Where You Left It is a responsive web app—use it in your browser on any phone, tablet, or computer. No app store install required.
Can I move containers and locations around?
Yes. You can reorganize your hierarchy with drag and drop. Move containers and locations to match how your space is organized.
How does search work?
Search by item name. Results are shown across all your locations and containers so you can find where something is quickly.
How do I get started?
Sign up for a free account, create your first location or container, and start adding items. It only takes a few seconds to log an item.
Can I add photos to items?
Yes. You can attach one photo per item to make items easier to identify. Free plan includes up to 100 images; paid plans (coming soon) offer unlimited images with fair use.
